Today, we decided to wear pink to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Now’s ‘Wear It Pink’ campaign for Breast Cancer – one of the biggest ongoing fundraising events based in the UK.
Along with the many thousands who are taking part nationwide in the campaign, we decided to join in by dressing up in the pinkest items in our wardrobes.
With a whopping £33 million raised to date by the organization, we wanted to make sure that our company did our part too and worked to contribute to that number even more!
This year, each of our employees paid £2 to spend the day brightening up the office and for the ones who didn’t were sent over to the ‘Glitter Station’.
Alongside the clothing fashionistas who worked their magic around the office, we also made sure to utilize the resource Packs that were available on Wear It Pink’s website and held a Big Pink Quiz where everyone got involved.
Further donations were also received from the team after they gave some extra change to choose from the selection of snacks generously brought in by the office.
But we thought why stop there? We organized a raffle where everyone had the opportunity to win one of the numerous prizes including plants, sweets, and extra little treats.
With the sun still shining and high in the sky, we’re deciding to keep up the fun-filled atmosphere in hopes we raise more funds as time goes by to support this great cause.
In the meantime, we thought we’d take a minute to show you some photos of our fabulous employees who took part and show off their pink-inspired styles.
In the past week, we have had the exciting opportunity to welcome a new addition to our Mortgage Advisor team, Joe Dewsbury.
Joe had previously worked at a high street bank for 3 years before joining us. He was brought into the company after he was referred to us by one of our existing advisors – Wayne Dewsbury, also known as Joe’s Dad, who many of our customers have had the pleasure of meeting at times when they have come to see us in our office.
Joe hopes to be a useful addition to the team, and after seeing him in action over the past few days whilst being mentored by none other than our very own Matt Collinson, we already have high hopes for him.
The Friday 27th September 2019 marked the day for Macmillan Coffee Morning, an event where people are encouraged to come together to raise money for cancer support. For many years we’ve upheld the tradition to take part in such events, as Macmillan is a charity we hold dearly to our hearts.
This year has raised the bar, with some great delicacies brought forward by our fantastic staff. These included;
All of these were shared out after gathering donations with our staff, and our company neighbors leading to our final amount for Macmillan Cancer Support.
We are delighted that everyone baked, donated, tasted, and had a superb time during our coffee morning. We’re already looking forward to next year!
